Let God arise

3.1  Introduction

We are all welcome to another important topic: “Let God arise”. This sounds like a warning to the enemies and everyone engaged in the act of making enmity with God. In Psalms 68:1, the bible declares thus: “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him”. We will be looking at why should God arise in the first instance, what has He been doing prior to calling on Him to arise, and what would likely happen when He finally arose. Indeed I urge everyone to follow through and the Lord will arise on our behalf this season, through Jesus Christ His only begotten son (amen).

3.2  Why Should God arise?

The word “arise” in spiritual terms could mean: to prove oneself, to defend, to justify, to put to an end, or to condemn. So when we call on God to arise, we are simply saying that God should prove Himself in a particular instance, or to defend us, to justify us, or put an end to what we don’t want in our lives. It is also a request for God to do something very special in our lives because of our limited power, ability or resources.

There are several instances, situations, or conditions in the life of man that calls for God’s intervention. We need God to arise in those instances. There are many powers that feed on oppressing children of God, we need God to arise and rescue us from the hands of those powers. There are circumstances that are manipulated to consume or disgrace the children of God. And if God did not arise and intervene in such circumstances, then the enemy would have the last laugh! There are laws targeted against the wellbeing and progress of the children of God. We need God to arise and change those retrogressive and pervert laws. Indeed we walk in a word that gives little or no chance for the children of God to excel and triumph. We need God to arise and give us much needed chance to succeed. Many Christain homes have been scattered due to the unrepentant forces of darkness. Many dreams and laudable future have been killed because of the rampaging powers of darkness. We need God to arise. Many of the brilliant children, futures and dreams of tomorrow in our societies have their dreams caged perpetually. Some have been made to walk the streets naked! The enemies have introduced wars, hatred and enmity between two brothers and sisters, just to ensure that their dreams of peace and cohesion does not come to limelight.

There are several reasons why God must arise. Indeed, we need Him to arise so that this word could be bearable for us. After all, we are in this word for now and we need to exist to be able to serve Him better. May the Lord arise on our behalf today in the name of Jesus Christ (amen).

3.3  What happens when God arise?

The Almighty God is a compassionate God. In Ecclesiastes 8:11, the bible declares thus: “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.” This bible passage is saying that God is not quick to judge or pass judgement on sinners. God usually gives time for sinners to repent and forsake their evil ways. Indeed, God is a loving God. This “apparent delay” in judgement encourages men to feel that God will not do anything. It make men to feel that there is no God to judge them at all. Some even believe that there is no retribution or vengeance. What a great mistake! When therefore God arises, we often forget the evil deeds we have committed in the past. Alas, the chicken has come to roast! Our penchant for misdeeds have cut-up with us.

When eventually God decided to arise and checkmate the sinners, there is nothing He cannot do. He can command the ground to swallow them (Numbers 16:31-33). He can use anything (including men) as instrument to administer judgement over the sinners. He can even destroy unrepentant nations that stand on His ways (Jude 1:7). When God arises, He breaks the bands of the wicked. But importantly when God arises, He sets the captives free. Whoever is the captive of the mighty, the Almighty God would set him/her free today in the name of Jesus Christ.

Furthermore, when God arises on our behalves, He would cause our enemies to bow or submit to us, while the so called enemies would receive adequate compensation for their act of wickedness committed against us. When God arises, His enemies would be scattered. These enemies would not be able to perform their enterprise. The Lord would confuse them and bring their activities to a halt! It is therefore a terrible, disastrous and dreadful of a thing to become an enemy of God. Why? Because no man would be able to deliver him from His hand. His knowledge, connections, powers, influence and affluence will not be able to help him. It is tragic to be God’s enemy indeed. I pray that none of us will become God’s enemy in the name of Jesus Christ (amen).

3.4  Can God arise for you?

Can God arise for you? Can He arise on our behalf?  These are more of questions than explanations. We need to be able to answer these simple questions boldly and categorically. Our answer can either be “yes” or “no” and not “both”. We will draw our answer from the relationship we have with this God. Why? Because God would only arise on behalf of Himself or on behalf of people with relationship with Him. Whichever camp we belong would determine our answers to the questions raised above

Children of God – God gives and accord preference to defending His own children whenever and wherever occasion demands. Several bible passages in the bible would attest to this statement. Again the bible declares in Mark 7:27 this: “But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.” So God will first arise for those that belong to Him. Now let us answer these questions: Are we a child of God? Do we know Him as much as calling Him our father? Does He also know us? Can He call us His sons or daughters? We will do well if our answers to these questions are all “yes”. If in other hand our answers are “no”, then I urge everyone to be God’s children. How could this be as anyone may want to ask? In Galatians 3:26, the bible says: “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” It then follows that all we need here is to have faith or believe in His son, Jesus Christ. Very simple and going forward the Almighty God will arise on our behalf. Amen.

True servants of God – another categories of people that God always arise on their behalf are the “true servants of the most-high God”. The bible says in 1 Chronicles 16:22: “Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm“. This same warning is also repeated in Psalms 105:15. So it is a serious relationship when we are servants of God. Many of us have been called to serve God in one capacity or another. God wants to partner with us. He wants us to invest in His kingdom here on earth so as to harvest more souls for Him. But what does He get from us? We have chosen not to respond to His calls. And those who responded does so at their own comfort! Many keep procrastinating and deferring this assignment. I only wish we genuinely heed the call so that He would be able to arise on our behalf whenever occasion demands. As we heed this call, may the blessings of obedience be our portion in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

The believers in Christ Jesus – This is another group of people that God would arise on their behalf. However, for God to arise on our behalf, we must learn to trust in Him through Jesus Christ, His only begotten son (John 3:16). We must depend absolutely on Him. We must have confidence in Him. Once we become His children, then develop our faith in Him and I can say boldly that He will always arise on our behalf. What is that situation we are facing? What is that mountain that is standing on our ways? And what is that valley we want to cross? The Almighty God has the capacity, and the wherewithal to bring them to subjection under our feet! All we need do is to trust in Him, and cast all our burdens on Him. He is big enough to accommodate all. He has never failed before and He will never fail any of us in Jesus name

Prayer

Ask God to arise on your behalf today.

On behalf of Himself – It is amazing to know that God would, many at times, arise on behalf of Himself. When His name and integrity are involved, God will arise. Whenever we call upon Him, God will arise. Whenever the enemy tries to “touch” the apple of His eye, God will arise. He does not joke with His name. God does not joke with His covenant. God does not joke with His promise concerning us. He is a loving God and He remains so till tomorrow and eternity. That is why the Psalmist

called on him to arise and let His enemies be scattered (Psalms 68:1).Never become God’s enemy because when He arise, no power, nor principalities, nor man, no angel can stop Him. He will arise on our behalf and arise against our enemies today and always through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer

Ask God to honour His name in your life, business, ministry and family

3.5  Can God arise against you?

When God arise, who can withstand His anger and wrath? Who is able to justify Himself? Or who can resist His wrath? Indeed it is a terrible thing to position one selves against the dictates of the Almighty God. Who are those people that would suffer when God arise? Who are those people that would be hurt and feel the pain when God arise? Certainly we are not among the ones and I pray we will never be.

But I need to let us know those ones that God would certainly arise against. Those that either knowingly or unknowingly made themselves enemy of God. Those that have chosen to stand on His path of anger! Those that deliberately “manufacture” lies against His only begotten son, Jesus Christ. God would definitely arise against them. In addition, consider the people below:

Enemy of God – all sinners are enemy of God by default and He would definitely arise against them in judgement. However God has made a way of escape for them when they repent and quit their evil ways. If anyone consider himself His enemy by his associations, actions and inactions with sin, then I urge the person to refocus, rethink and find peace with his maker. Remember we cannot fight any battle with the Almighty God and win. No, not even one!

All manners of sinners and reprobates minds are enmity with God. All forms of unrighteousness are sins unto Him. No sinners can go unpunished unless they repent. God is a merciful Father that has made a way of escape for those that believe in His son, Jesus Christ. In John 3:16, the bible says that “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God can never arise for His enemies. He will always arise against them anytime and any day. Let us make Jesus Christ our friend and He will arise on our behalf today. I pray that God will never arise against us in the name of Jesus Christ

Prayer

Ask for the special grace to be and remain God’s true friend as it was with father Abraham

3.6  Conclusion

It is lovable and pleasing to have God’s support in warfare. Because when the Lord arises, He parted the red sea, caused rivers to flow in the desert, and brought out water from the rock. When He arose, He disgraced death, took the key of gate of hell and death and went with it (Rev 1:18). When the Lord arise, He silences any opposition, and brought their support to kneel. In short, when God arise, anything can happen.

May the Lord arise on our behalf and arise against every contrary winds to our lives and purposes in the name of Jesus Christ (amen)

This is the concluding part of this message, and be on the lookout for the next. Stay blessed!!!
